The Conference themes will be as follows:
The ratio of women to men in the French language; both yesterday and today.
The history of the French language and its media: the first Internet dictionaries.
The adventure of words of French: archaisms, neologisms, etymology and challenges of translation.

A brief note on our speaker:
Jean Pruvost, lexicographer and linguist, is Professor at the University of Cergy-Pontoise. He directs the laboratory LDI (encyclopedias, dictionaries, Computer) of CNRS, devoted to words and dictionaries of yesterday and today. He organizes the annual Day of Dictionaries, an international meeting of lexicologists and lexicographers. Author of twenty books and over three hundred articles, Jean Pruvost is also a language columnist on radio and in print.
