The junior version of DELF has the same basic structure as the standard DELF.

The DELF "junior" is aimed at adolescents, both foreigners and French, who want to improve their French language skills.

The "junior" version implies that only themes of interest to young people ages of 12 to 18 years old are included in the exercises (middle to high school level). Indeed, the DELF exams assess communication skills. A young learner will be placed in a context that will make it easier for him/her to react in the "junior" version; he/she will thus be able to demonstrate all his/her skills to the evaluators.

The topics are different from the DELF tout public because the material incorporates the interests of young people. However, it can be taken by teenagers and young adults between the ages of 12 and 18 years old. The DELF diploma for the "junior" version has the same value as a diploma for the "tout public" adult version. The exam version is not indicated on the diploma. The examinations are independent, and candidates can register for the examination of their choice. Each examination evaluates the four communication competencies : reading, listening, writing and speaking.

There are four diplomas for young people : A1, A2, B1, B2

Notes: The dates / times / prices are decided by the Ambassade de France at Washington and France Education International. The individual oral exam date and time is decided between the candidate and Alliance Française de Charlotte.

By registering to the DELF exam, you agree to abide by FEI and AF rules, and you understand that the exam fees are not refundable.
